You know by now that cannabis is experiencing incredible growth.
With that growth comes a need to solve new problems and address issues that did not previously exist. In the rapidly evolving regulatory environment, it can be difficult for businesses to keep up with the ever-changing rules and regulations.
Complia was founded to solve problems for cannabis businesses.
Complia is the only cannabis-specific licensing and registration platform on the market today!
They address a variety of regulatory challenges including patient/caregiver registration, business licensing, employee credentialing, and physician registration.
Co-founder Alex Valvassori was Chief Compliance Officer for a large vertically integrated marijuana business in Colorado. In this role, Alex was responsible for preparing and submitting all required licensing paperwork.
Through this experience, Valvassori came to realize the inefficiencies and challenges associated with cannabis licensing. This ultimately led to forming the company that would become Complia.
SOLVING A PROBLEM
Complia is uniquely configured for each of its customers, allowing the platform to align exactly with statutory and regulatory needs. Their clients, which include the states of Maryland, Montana, and Oklahoma, are cannabis regulators that rely on Complia’s technology to register patients and caregivers, license businesses, credential cannabis employees, and more.
The Complia team fosters an environment of cooperation and contribution.
“Complia is a small and nimble team,” said Valvassori. “Each member of our team has countless opportunities to have their voices heard and contribute to the trajectory of the business.”
Most of all, they greatly value the work that they do.
“Our team takes tremendous pride in simplifying the application and licensing process for both industry stakeholders and regulators alike.”
Complia recently hired a Technical Support Engineer through Vangst!
“He’s already off to a great start!” said Valvassori.
Complia is currently hiring Developers through Vangst! If you’re an experienced and talented software developer, Complia wants to hear from you. Contact Cody at email@example.com for more information!
DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
In addition to the necessary technical skills, Complia looks for applicants who are able to take ownership of projects from start to finish.
“Because we are a flat organization, we rely on our team to own their role each and every day,” said Valvassori.
The interview process begins with a phone screen to better understand the personality and goals of the candidate.
“We quickly try to identify incongruencies between our needs and the desires of candidates,” he said.
After the phone screen, they proceed with technical evaluations and on-site interviews. Finally, they make sure that each of the founders has an opportunity to connect with the candidate to ensure a strong cultural fit.
The number one thing co-founder Valvassori wants candidates to know?
“Regulatory compliance isn’t the sexiest component of the cannabis industry, but we are solving very real and very meaningful problems.”
Complia was recently used to register the first-ever medical marijuana patients in Oklahoma.
“We are humbled to have played an integral role in providing access to cannabis to those in need.”
